Promising Philanthropy and Fundraising Practices
The program Promising Philanthropy and Fundraising Practices aims to instigate civil society organizations and networks to strategically think and use innovative philanthropic and fundraising practices to become sustainable in a long run and serve as a role model to other civil society organizations in achieving sustainability.
This program is envisioned with the aim to help civil society organizations/networks to solve the issue of long-term sustainability. The program will be implemented in two phases - the process of fund raising and matching donation for realization of project activities.
The program Promising Philanthropy and Fundraising Practice is part of the project Philanthropy for Local Communities, conducted by Trag Foundation in partnership and with financial assistance form United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Program Description and Application procedure
The program will be implemented in two phases - the process of fund raising and matching donation for realization of project activities. The project proposal of civil society organizations/networks should reflect the mission of organization/network and they should have broader significance for civil society and society in general. In that sense, projects don't have thematic limitations, but they should be focused on resolving concrete problems that are relevant to wider community and larger number of people.
It is necessary that projects have potential for fundraising and sustainability. Projects should demonstrate good and realistic sustainability plan, as well as identify primary sources of financing - individual donations, business or income generating activities of organizations/networks. Organizations involved in the program will fundraise for their projects in their own communities and wider, and Trag will grant them donation matching the fundraised amount up to the maximum amount planned within the project.
The maximum amount of donation is $9000 per organization/network and it would be granted to selected organizations/networks as a matching donation in the proportion 1:1.
