Regional conference “Philanthropy and Civil Society: Acting for the Common Good”
The conference "Philanthropy and Civil Society: Acting for the Common Good", organized by Fund for Active Citizenship - fAKT and regional SIGN Network that gathers the largest indigenous grant makers in the region, was held in Podgorica on November 22nd, with the aim to define the key prerequisites for building a more favorable environment for development of philanthropy in the region.
Tenth annual competition of the VIRTUS award for philanthropy
By revealing the „Reflection of Good“ which is part of the „Goodness Uncovered“ campaign launch, Trag Foundation opened the competition for the 10th VIRTUS Award for Philanthropy. Like previous years, the award will be presented to businesses and individuals who have contributed to the public good and provided long term and effective support to non-profit initiatives and organizations in the year 2015/16.

Projects Supported in June Round of Active Communities Program
In June Round of decision making Trag Foundation has supported projects of 8 civil society organizations  and informal groups from Serbia, in the total amount of 2,350,837.00 dinars. Financial assistance to the program Active Communities in 2016 is provided by Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Balkan Trust for Democracy and Foundation  Kinderperspective from Netherlands.

Stronger and Sustainable with Local Support
The team of Trag Foundation has strengthen capacities for fundraising of 55 representatives of organizations from the region. The training named Stronger and More Sustainable with Local Support  - fundraising from local resources - for organizations and networks from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia took place  in Petrovac in Montenegro, from July 12th to 14th. Supported organizations are part of the regional program Empowering women's organizations and movement for fighting violence against women, conducted in partnership between Oak Foundation and Trag Foundation. Trag Foundation member of the newly established Council for Corporate Social Responsibility of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce
Council for Corporate Social Responsibility was established today on Board of Directors Meeting of Serbian Chamber of Commerce that will represent its consultative body. Members of the Council are representatives of business sector, foundations and NGOs, recognized for their engagement and devotion to the principles of corporate social responsibility.

Safe passage and protection for all refugees in transit through Serbia should be a priority
On the occasion of marking World Refugee Day, B92 Fund and Foundation Trag as initiators of Info Park Project that for the last nine months helped almost 150.000 refugees in transit through Serbia, call on all the actors to continue to put maximum efforts into securing safe passage and protection of all refugees in Serbia.

For more than a decade, Trag Foundations is dedicated to the promotion of local philanthropy and fundraising from local resources. Through its various range of programs, Trag Foundation provides education on fundraising and financial sustainability to local organizations. Trag foundation itself introduces new practices of fundraising - such as major giving and establishment of the first financial endowment in Serbia.
Local Philanthropy Contributes to Increased Giving for Public Good
On March 29 in Nis, Trag Foundation and Foundation Catalyst, with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), organized a conference on development trends in philanthropy and models of emerging local community foundations, at which the findings of the 2015 Annual Report on Philanthropy were presented.

Increased Giving for Public Good in 2015
On March 24, the Trag Foundation and Foundation Catalyst, with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) presented the findings of the Annual Report on the State of Philanthropy in Serbia in 2015, at Restaurant Caruso in Belgrade. In 2015, an estimated 22 million EUR were donated in Serbia for public good initiatives. According to number of actions of giving the most active donors were citizens through mass individual giving, than follows corporate sector, individuals and other donors. Infopark’s Six Months of Working for Refugees
InfoPark, a unique center for service provision to refugees which was jointly launched by Fund B92 and Trag Foundation in Belgrade, Dimitrovgrad and Preševo, is celebrating six months of work.
This one of a kind refugee support point was established on September 16, 2015 in the park near the bus station in Belgrade, aiming to provide service information and communication facilities to refugees, as well as other support needed for their stay in Belgrade and safe continuation of their journey. The operation was launched with a support of Belgrade City Council as well as International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Pro Asyl. Read more >>

Trag Foundation's Donation Committee has made a decision to involve 10 organizations in the training process on fundraising skills.

2015 VIRTUS Award Winners
The 9th Annual VIRTUS Philanthropy Excellence Award winners for 2015 were announced today at the Annual VIRTUS ceremony held at Belgrade Philharmonic. The awards were presented by: His Excellency Michael Kirby, US Ambassador to Serbia; His Excellency Phillip Pinnington, Canadian Ambassador to Serbia; and, Mr. Oskar Benedikt, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia, Radojka Nikolic, President of the VIRTUS jury and Biljana Dakic Djordjevic, executive director of  the Trag Foundation. VIRTUS Award Ceremony
The VIRTUS philanthropy excellence award ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra Hall at noon. The VIRTUS Award was established in 2007, to promote corporate social responsibility as a part of sustainable development of companies and corporations, and individuals who contribute to development of philanthropy. The award is intended for companies and corporations, small and medium sized enterprises and individuals who have most effectively contributed to general well-being by providing material or other support to non-profit civil society actions or organisations in 2015.
Open Premises of Scouts Squad Saint Sava in Belgrade
Yesterday in Belgrade,  with proper ceremony, the premises of Scouts Squad Saint Sava are open within the establishment of the Home for  children without parental care Jovan Jovanović Zmaj. For the past 15 years members of the  Scouts Squad Saint Sava work with children without parental care, teaching them scouts skills and organizing outdoor activities for them. Their dedication to work with children, including numerous scouts successes, have been recognized by the management of the Home for children without parental care  Jovan Jovanović Zmaj, that provided the use of their premises.
